Mass media refers collectively to all media technologies, including the Internet, television, newspapers, and radio, which are used for mass communications, and to the organizations which control these technologies. It includes Broadcasting with the help of TV and radio, Entertainment with use of audio visuals -films and videos, internet that includes blogs, forums, music, news, then Publishing of Books, papers, magazines, and it also includes postal mail, telephony and new media technologies like social media and other interactive Media. The media has various purposes like providing entertainment, education, Advocacy among others. Thus the scope of a Career in media industry is vast.
The career options for our students include Journalism, News reporting, public relations officers, and editors, to name a few. As a part of the course curriculum, young aspirants get exposure to visit various media organizations, publication houses, and workshops.
Year I: The 1st year helps to develop a strong foundation and understanding of the relevant subjects such as Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Culture and the environment besides developing the communication skills of the students.
Year II: It helps to develop advanced communication skills such as marketing, advertising, public relations and event management and covers all the media types under Broadcast Media such as Radio, television and Cinema.
Year III: It covers all the aspects of Print Media such as reporting, editing, Layout and design. It also covers all major print media types like newspapers, magazines and journals. The final year is dedicated to developing their research skills. |
