About IIC

Satyam Fashion Institute, Noida, established its Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in the academic session 2024–2025 under the guidance of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). The council aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members. It serves as a platform to promote idea generation, design thinking, and startup incubation within the campus. Through this initiative, the institute intends to bridge the gap between academia and industry-driven innovation. Faculty and student coordinators have been appointed to ensure smooth functioning and active participation. The council also encourages interdisciplinary collaboration to develop market-ready solutions and prototypes. This step reflects Satyam Fashion Institute’s commitment to empowering future innovators in fashion and design technology.

Vision and Mission

  • Identify and nurture the best innovative ideas, providing a nurturing environment to incubate and develop into successful startups or entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Encourage entrepreneurship through application of both academic knowledge and industrial expertise, bridging classroom learning and real-world application.
  • Empower ideas with mentorship, funding guidance, technical support, and infrastructure to transform them into viable products or services.
  • Support holistic growth of budding entrepreneurs, developing essential business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Promote socio-economic change by encouraging students to develop practical solutions to societal challenges.
  • Conduct quarterly review meetings to formalize discussions, track progress, and plan upcoming activities aligned with institutional and national innovation goals.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, and interactive sessions with industry leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to inspire and expose students to diverse perspectives.
  • Engage with national and regional entrepreneurship networks to create opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and idea exchange.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

1. Head of Institution (HOI) / President

  • Provides strategic guidance and ensures alignment with institutional innovation goals.
  • Oversees IIC functioning and promotes a campus-wide innovation culture.

2. Convener

  • Leads IIC activities in line with MIC/AICTE guidelines.
  • Coordinates reporting, planning, and documentation of all initiatives.

3. Innovation Activity Coordinator

  • Organizes innovation workshops, challenges, and events.
  • Encourages student and faculty participation in creative problem-solving.

4. Internship Activity Coordinator

  • Facilitates industry tie-ups for internships and placements.
  • Monitors internship outcomes and gathers feedback for improvement.

5. IPR Activity Coordinator

  • Conducts awareness sessions on patents and IPR filing processes.
  • Assists faculty and students with IP protection and documentation.

6. Social Media Coordinator

  • Manages the IIC’s digital outreach and promotional content.

7. Start-up Activity Coordinator

Objectives

  • To foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty.

Objectives of the Research & Development Cell

  • Promote Research Excellence: Foster a culture of high-quality research by providing adequate resources, infrastructure, and institutional support to enable researchers to undertake innovative and impactful projects.
  • Encourage Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote cross-disciplinary interactions among researchers, startups, and industry partners to address complex challenges and develop integrated solutions.
  • Facilitate Collaborative Opportunities: Create platforms for collaboration between academia, research institutions, and startups to promote joint initiatives that drive innovation and add societal and economic value.
  • Enable Technology Transfer and Commercialization: Bridge the gap between research and practical applications by facilitating the transfer of technologies, innovations, and research outcomes for commercialization and real-world impact.
  • Foster a Culture of Innovation: Inspire creativity and innovation across the organization by encouraging new ideas, supporting experimental research, and nurturing partnerships with startups and industry.
  • Support the Startup Ecosystem: Strengthen the startup environment by providing access to expert mentorship, research facilities, funding opportunities, and academic collaboration.
  • Enhance Industry–Academia Partnerships: Build and sustain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to identify research needs, undertake joint projects, and promote the co-development of technologies and solutions.
  • Promote Intellectual Property (IP) Management: Develop and implement robust IP management practices, including patent filing, licensing, and protection of innovative outcomes generated through research and startup collaborations.
  • Encourage Entrepreneurship and Capacity Building: Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among researchers, faculty, and students by offering incubation support, entrepreneurship training, and networking opportunities.
  • Monitor, Evaluate, and Ensure Compliance: Establish systematic mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the progress of research and innovation initiatives. Ensure timely submission of Annual Progress Reports, Project Completion Reports, and Utilization Certificates to relevant authorities.
